A while back I had the privilege of leading a study on the resurrection. We spent some time looking at the apologetic side of things. We spent some time examining the theological implications. And then we finished with thinking about its practical application for our lives, which I’d like to lay out in a series of posts. Perhaps if I get around to it one day I’ll publish the other materials. But for now, I’ll start with a simple, but important insight I got from my friend, Brad:
Jesus’ resurrection should put some pep in your step.
Shouldn’t it? Both figuratively speaking and literally. I don’t think I should need a Bible verse to convince you of that, but if I do, it’s where Luke writes “they worshipped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy” (Luke 24:52). That’s about a two mile walk from Bethany. Perhaps a half an hour or so of the peppiest steps that have ever been taken.
Let’s follow their lead.
