I started this series of posts by first saying that to be with Jesus is far better than being the world’s greatest influencer. I’ll continue it with a simple reflection on something else Paul has to say.
Being with Jesus is the ultimate homecoming.
Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8)
I can’t help but wonder that when we are finally with him, we might look back on our lives and realize that we’ve been homesick our entire lives, waiting to finally get to where we really belong and feel most at home. And it’s only in his presence that we will most easily be able to feel it.
