This is pretty much my advice for all of life. You name it. College, marriage, vocation, birth plans, whatever. Make a plan and hold it loosely. Anything other than that and the Bible has something to say about it.

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. Proverbs 19:21

Don’t make a plan? (Or worse yet, don’t make a plan and convince yourself that your lack of planning isn’t unwise, in fact, you’re just trusting God!)

Go to the ant…consider her ways and be wise. Proverbs 6:6

Make a plan and bank on it? Even boast about it?

Instead you ought to say, If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that. James 4:15
